School is out

This the last project I did for school this semester. Thought I would share a couple of pics.

Snow

Here is my weekly update on us. We woke up on Tuesday to a lot of snow. It took a while to get to work. I am hoping that the rest of the storms hold off until next week but I hear that we are getting more tonight. I only have 2 days left of school and they should be busy ones. We have things to get done before the break and also have parties. The kids are starting to get rowdy which means it is time for vacation for everyone. I also had to deal with the stomach flu this past weekend. It was not a fun 24 hours. Like Ryan said, I am now a four-eye nerd but a cute one.
Ryan is on his way to his last final. He had to make a model house. It turned out well. We are both glad to be done with school and work on Friday. We are going to my parent's house on Saturday for two weeks. I am so excited to spend time with my family and have a nice long break.

Cause I never write

Some might say that I am not cool because I don't ever write anything on the blog; just my dear wife. I guess I like to think of myself as the strong SILENT type. But I thought I would add my 2 cents of commentary for our small family.
It turns out that Natalie does need glasses so they are on the way. I just need everyone to remind her to wear them over this Christmas break. We will see how it goes, she didn't like it when I called her my cute little nerd, so be aware of any comments you might have.
I am happy this semester is coming to a close. Period.
Natalie wrote in the last post that we were able to go and watch the new Twilight movie. In order to keep any manly integrity I have, or as Tony would put it, "to not have to turn in my man card," I didn't quite enjoy the movie so much, but was glad Natalie liked it. The whole Edward thing just puts me on edge.

Twilight

Ryan and I went to see Twilight yesterday with Laura and Ashley. I enjoyed the movie and Ryan made it through the movie. If you are a fan of chick flicks then you will enjoy the movie.
I stayed home from work on Friday to go to the doctor. I have been having a lot of headaches lately and my back has been hurting. She gave me some exercises to help with my back pain and told me to get my eyes checked. I try to go yesterday but the doctor has just left so I am going back on Tuesday. We will see if I need glasses or not.
Ryan has his last week of classes and then finals next week. I have two weeks left of school. We are looking forward to our two week Christmas break and spending time with family.

Thanksgiving

We had a nice Thanksgiving break. The best parts were being able to sleep in and spend time with family. We spend Wednesday just catching up on things around the house and then we headed up to Midway for the break. We had a nice dinner on Thursday and we played the Wii. On Friday, we did go shopping to the outlets in Park City. We got Ryan some much needed winter clothes. Also, Ryan went to paintball with his family while I did the rest of my Christmas shopping. We headed back home on Saturday afternoon. We also bought ourselves a new camera. Ryan had his taken from my old apartment and mine was old. We had a nice Sunday dinner with the family. Ryan's parents are still in town until tomorrow so they have been staying with us. I did not take any pictures but I hope that get better now that I have a new camera.

Weekend Happenings

Well, we had a busy weekend. On Friday, Ryan went to the basketball game with my family while my mom and I went shopping for the baby shower. We were up until 11pm making muffins for the morning. That night, my parents and brothers stayed the night at our house. On Saturday, we had the baby shower in the morning. It was a lot of fun to see some family and talk about my niece who will be here in less than a month. Then we watched the BYU and Utah game, which did not having a ending that we were hoping for. BYU did not play their best and lost the game. On Sunday, we got out the Christmas decorations. Vanessa said that she had hers out so that made me want to get mine out. Ryan helped me glue the pieces that needed to be fixed. I have a Christmas village that I have never put up because I have never had my own place.
This will be a short week with only two days of school. We are looking forward to the break and to spend time with our family. I hope that everyone enjoys the holiday. Happy Thanksgiving.

Half way through the month

Well, life is moving right along. I had my students program last night. They did a really good job and the parents really enjoyed it. The kids had to dance with each other and even after all the complaints about it, they really enjoyed themselves. I am definitely ready for the break. It has a been a hard month so far and I have not been in the best mood over the last couple of weeks. I have had parent problems and students problems this month.
Anyway, Ryan and I are doing fine. Ryan has finished one class and only has a project left for it. He will finish another class on Saturday when he takes the final. We are heading to my parents house after Ryan's final to watch the BYU football game and finish planning Vanessa's baby shower.

New Month

I cannot believe how fast this year has gone. Thanksgiving is only 3 weeks away and then it will be Christmas time. It has turn cold here and it was snowing a bit yesterday morning. Here is my story of my first car accident: I was hit from behind by a police car from the city of Orem which was being driver by a city worker. His pickup was fine but the civic is a little bit smashed on the driver's back side. Let's say that it was not a great way to start my Wednesday morning. I was not hurt but I was shook up for most of the day. My days have been busy with work. We are having our 4th grade program next week. I am the loudest of the teachers in the 4th grade so I do most of the talking to the students. I guess that I can brag out myself, this month I was voted employee of the month for October. It was a nice surprise.
Ryan has only 5 weeks until finals start. So he is very busy with work and school. Life is moving right along and we excited for the break coming up.

Halloween

Happy Halloween! It was a crazy but fun day. My students love to dress up and have a party. I am glad that Halloween fell on a Friday this year so that the kids have the weekend to calm down and come back to school pretty normal. Ryan and I are getting together with friends for a small party. We are both dressed so here are our costumes. Enjoy!

Las Vegas Pictures

We had a great time!

Las Vegas

We had a great time this weekend in Las Vegas. We were able to spend some fun time with my family. The new baby, Garrett, is just so cute and cuddly. It was fun to see the rest of the Braswell family as well. I played a lot of games with Paige. We also enjoyed the warmer weather. We will post some pictures later.
Life is moving right along for us. Ryan is finishing up midterms and I am finishing up my first quarter of teaching on Friday. I will be 1/4 of the way through the school year. I should be an interesting day at work tomorrow after the kids have had almost a week off of school. Next week will be fun with Halloween coming up. I am trying to come up with a costume. I will probably be a doctor if I can find a mask and some fake doctor tools.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

I have just finished up my first set of conferences this year. It is always a long week when you have to spend an extra 8 hours at work. Most of my parents were great and even thanked me for the job that I was doing. It is always nice to hear that your students enjoy your class and like the fourth grade. I am ready to get some sleep this weekend and some rest. Ryan had two test this week and a paper so he had lots of time to do school work while I was working.
We are heading to the homecoming game tomorrow which will be a cold one. I am glad that it is a home game because I miss being there in person. Also, we are looking forward to our trip to Las Vegas next week to see the new baby. It will be great to have a break from school and spend some time with the family.

Fall

Fall is my favorite season. I love the weather. I love BYU football and well I love most sports. I feel like in the fall I get to start a new year. Every time, the new school year comes along, it is my chance to be better. I know that I am not the best teacher in the world but I try to start each day with a better attitude then the day before. I do not always do better but the fact that I get to try each day is great. Also, I love the fall because it means all the best holidays are just around the corner.

We are still waiting on the all of our pictures. Our photographer came by last night with another set of CDs and the same thing happened. So she is trying to figure out why the pictures will not show up on our computer. Anyway, I hoping that we can get the problem fixed so we can have all of our pictures soon.

We got some of our wedding pictures today. Something happened to the CD so only some of the pictures are there and I have no bridal pictures. Hopefully, we can figure out what is wrong and we can get a slide show our pictures up soon. But here are a few that we have that I really liked.

New Baby

My brother and sister-in-law welcomed a baby boy to the world yesterday. I am an aunt again. They named him Garrett William Braswell. Ryan and I are hoping to go to Las Vegas next month to meet him and see the rest of the family. Also, on the good news train, we get our wedding pictures tonight. So I will post them sometime this weekend.

Late Church

We have church at 2:30, starting today, so I thought that I would add a picture to our blog. We had a great day with family yesterday and being able to attend the football game.

Another Week

Well, another week has come and gone. It nice to know that things are moving right along with school. Ryan and I have been married for two months now and are finally going to see our wedding pictures next Friday. I am so excited to finally get them back. So I will be posting them next Saturday. It is going to be a fun 3 day weekend. We are going to the BYU football game tomorrow and helping Vanessa and Mike move. Also, I am going to relax on Monday and get some schoolwork done while Ryan goes bike riding at Sundance with his brothers.

End of the first week

It is now the end of my first week of teaching and it has been a good one. The students that I have are really great and are willing to work hard. I am excited to actually get into are day in and day out activities. The first is alway full of getting to know each other, tests (both reading and math), and the rules. We are starting math on Monday and we are into social studies as of yesterday.
As for the rest of our lives, Ryan will start school on September 2nd. We are both looking forward to the first football game next Saturday. We are right now housing Laura until Wednesday. It has been nice to have her around and hanging out with us. Life is moving right along and it is great.

First Day of School

I MADE IT THROUGH THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! It was a good day. My students are great this year. I have few that will need some extra help so I am hoping that I able to do my best this year. Kids are just so willing to learn so much and love you as their teacher. I am excited about the new year and to teach the students so much.

August can only mean one thing...

Back to school. The first day of school is only 9 days away. I am back to work on Tuesday. It is a bitter-sweet feeling having my summer end. It has been nice to have the break but I am the kind of person who needs to be busy. I am happy to start my third year of teaching. Currently, I have 32 students which is 3 less than last year. It should be a good year.

Update

It has been a while so I thought that I would give a short update on us. It has been nice to have the house put together. I have been spending this week getting ready for school to start. It begins in 2 and 1/2 weeks. I am back to work in less then two weeks. The summer has gone by fast. Ryan has been working hard at work. He still has a little over a month until BYU is back in class. We are heading to Layton this weekend to help my parents move into their house. They got the keys this week and have been painting. I am excited to see the house. We should be getting our wedding pictures back soon. My photographer emailed to say that they are almost done. I am getting excited to see them. I will get pictures up as soon as I get them.

Well,we have been married for one whole week and we love it. We had a great wedding day and really fun honeymoon. It was a great week. We will get some pictures up of our wedding day soon as well as some from our trip to CA.

2 weeks

Another week has come and gone, we are finally done planning the wedding. Everything that needs to be done is planned just not finished yet. We have the flowers done which was the last big thing to do. We also have the day planned. We are heading to Brigham City this afternoon to spend some time with my family and get the party favors made for the wedding.
Ryan is done with school on Wednesday. He is ready for his summer vacation from school. I am enjoying my summer vacation. It has been nice to get up a little later and not to have such long days. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone very soon.

3 weeks

Well, we are down to the last three weeks of planning. We have been able to get most things done with just a few things left. Mostly, we are just waiting for the days to pass.
I have enjoyed my first week off of work. I have been able to get some much needed sleep and rest. I have also been able to get some things moved into our apartment. We are picking up our bed on Saturday. It will be nice to have some things done with the apartment before we leave for CA.
Ryan only has a little less than two weeks left of school. We are both ready for him to be done. We are also ready for some warm weather. It has been another couple of rainy days here. I know that it will be 100 degrees for our wedding day but that is life.

Flowers

I am trying to figure out flowers for my bouquet. My colors are white, green and yellow. So if there is anyone who has favorite flowers that are these colors, let me know. I need some ideas within the next few days. I am going to flower shops over the next couple of days.

Done!

I am done with this school year. I am not going to do anything related to school until after the wedding. I get a good 5 or 6 weeks off and then it will be time to start getting ready for the fall school year.
Well, since I am on, I will get a short update on us. We got our bed last night and we are getting the keys to our apartment tonight. I will be moving things in next week. We are helping my sister and her husband move today. Also, my family is coming down today from Brigham city. They made it here to Utah on Tuesday. Ryan has a math test today so he will join the rest of us later on.
Well, we will see a lot of you in 27 days for our wedding. We are just finishing up things and we will be ready for that day.

One month to go...

Well, we only have one month until the big day. We are both very ready for the day to be here. It has gone by so fast these last 4 months of planning and now we only have one month left.
Anyway, we had a nice weekend. We were able to spend sometime with my family for an indoor picnic yesterday. Then we did a murder mystery dinner with some friends. It was a good day off of work and school but made it hard to get back to school and work today. I only have 3 days left of school. Ryan still has a couple of weeks. We are both very ready to have a summer break.
We also taught our first lesson in Sunday school on Sunday. It was a lot of fun and it went really well. Ryan did a great job on his first teaching assignment in church. So all in all the weekend was a relaxing and fun weekend.

Well, another week has come and gone. School is just flying by with only 8 school days left. Ryan is still working hard on his math class and still has a few of weeks to go before the final in mid-June. School keeps before of us busy each day. I am looking forward to the summer break this year to relax.
The wedding plans are almost done. Just the small things that need to be done. Hopefully, everyone got their announcements and are ready to party with us on June 27th. Mostly, I am just waiting until school gets out so that I have more time to do things.
Ryan and I both were called to Sunday school teachers for the time that we have left in our singles ward. It should be a good calling. I love teaching at church and Ryan and I will team teach together. We will teach for the first time on this Sunday.

Field Trip

Today, the 4th grade is headed to "This is the Place" park for our field trip. It is a very rainy day and a little cold. So we will have to see how the day plays out. I am excited to go because I have never been there and lot of people have told me how cool of a place it is.
The weekend was a good one. We got to spend sometime with my family on Saturday. We helped plant a lot of flowers. I also got to take my bridals. It was a lot of fun. My dad and Mike even came along with my mom, Laura and Vanessa. It was a big group of people but it was a lot of fun. Yesterday, we got all of our announcements put into the envelopes ready to send out. It is nice to have that big part of the planning done. Now, we just have to get them in the mail this week.

50 days to go

There are 50 days until the wedding and we are working hard to get everything done. The rain did not hold off yesterday so I had to move my bridals until Saturday evening. My photographer is great and she so willing to work to find a time that we could take them while my mom is still here. I guess the good news is that I got a half day off of work but the bad news is my sub did not show up so the other 4th grade teachers had to take care of my students all afternoon. I told that I was sorry especially since I did not even get to take my pictures. Also, my parents came down to Provo last night to see us and that was nice to be able to see them.
Well, life is moving along. This week has been test week at school so the kids and are ready for it to be over. We have 16 days left of school and I feel ready to have a break and be able to relax a little more. The time is just flying by and I can not believe that it is May 8th already. Ryan is ready for spring term to be over and be done with school for a couple of months. He has his first test tomorrow and I know that he will do fine. So we will both be busy right up to our wedding day and then we will have a couple of weeks to relax and get things done. Here is hoping that the nice weather is around the corner.

No Rain

I am praying for no rain today or at least the rain to be gone by 5pm. I am having my bridals done and the weathermen are calling for storms. I am taking the afternoon off to get ready so I hope that it all comes together or I will have to make another time work. So knows when I will find time for that. I will write more later to give you the update on us.

May 1st

Well, we have made it to May. It is a very cold start to the month of May. We had snow last night as well as during the day today. The high temperature was only in the 40's. I am finally moved into my new apartment that I will be living in until the first week of June. I am living with Laura and so far she is the only one so we will have to see if we ever get roommates. This month will be a really busy with lots of different events. Our first big event of the month is my cousin's wedding on Saturday. I hoping for nice weather for her. Also, my mom gets here tomorrow. I am happy that we will be in the same place so that she can help me with wedding plans.
