Nice Weekend

On Friday, I took the day off for some much needed rest. It was nice to sleep in and be able to have some time to myself. Ryan and I went on a date that night to see New Moon.
On Saturday, I got the rest of my Christmas shopping done. It is nice to be done. We went to Ashley's house for dinner. She made us some very yummy food. Thanks, Ashley!
On Sunday, we woke up to snow on the ground. We also had Ryan's siblings over to watch the Christmas Devotional. It was a very nice weekend.

Thanksgiving Break

Ryan and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving break this week. We were able to get out of Provo on Tuesday night after the BYU basketball game. On Wednesday, we played games and hung out with my family. On Thursday, we had a great Thanksgiving meal and watched the parade. We also celebrated my nephew Carson's 7th birthday. On Friday, I did some shopping with my mom. We did not get up early, we just went when we were ready for the day. My family also went to see the lights at Temple Square. On Saturday, we came back to Provo and went to the BYU/ Utah game. It was a fun game even though it was a stressful ending. I am glad that we came out on top. Ryan's family came down on Wednesday so his dad and brother were able to come to the game while his mom watched Trevor. They headed home this morning so we only got to see them for a little bit of time but we will be in Washington for Christmas.

Snowy Day

It is a snowy day here in Utah. I am not ready for the snow. I believe that the snow can only come after Thanksgiving.
Anyway, life for us is going pretty good. Ryan is staying busy with school and work. He is working hard. I am busy with school. We just had the lst quarter end this past week. Now we are getting ready to have our fourth grade program in a few weeks.
My family had our pictures taken on Saturday. It was good weather but right at the end it started to rain. I am looking forward to seeing the pictures. Also, we went to the BYU game. It was pretty good weather, it was just cold. The cougars did not come out on top but it was nice to be with family.

Fall Break

This past weekend, we had a lot of our family over for the football game. A lot of us did not make it to the end of the game because of the late hour. I am happy to say that I did make it to the end of the game. It was a nice win.
On Sunday, as I do now on most Sundays, I had a lot of time to myself and was able to take a nice nap. Ryan was busy with meeting during the day.
This week so far, we have been pretty busy with school life. Ryan had a kickball last night that his team won which means they will be playing in the championship game on Saturday. I have the next two days off for fall break. It will be nice to relax and get caught up on sleep.

October

Ryan and I have been busy over the last two weeks. Last weekend, we were able to enjoy the football game on Friday night. Then on Saturday we were able to see Eric play in a soccer game. He is doing so great this year. We were also able to watch General Conference. We really enjoyed all the talks about learning to love and giving service. This week, Ryan played in first two kickball tournament games. He won both which means he will be playing again tomorrow night. I will not be able to watch this game because I will be holding Parent Teacher Conferences. I am sure that he will do great. Ryan has a field trip on Saturday so I am hoping that I will be able to get the house clean.

This week

It has been a pretty good week of work and school. I was able get things put together at work for my students who need a lot reading help. I hoping that I will be able to help them. Ryan has a busy school and work schedule. He was able to get a lot of school work done on Friday night. Yesterday, we went to a stake activity that was about the family. It was a good reminder of the things that we need to be doing. We also attend the first home football game of the season. It was not the outcome we were looking forward too but it nice to see family.

Summer Ending

As my summer is ending tomorrow, I am grateful for what a wonderful summer I had. We were able to travel and see our family members. I start back to work on Monday morning with a rested mind and body and ready for the school year. I received my list of students last week. I only have 26 students on my list (which will change as kids move in this week and last week). I am very excited to meet those new faces and have the chance to teach them.
Ryan starts back to school on the 31st. So he still has a few weeks left of his summer. Which he will spend with his brother Blake. Blake will be with us from Aug. 18 to Aug. 28 while Ryan's parents are on a cruise.

But we still have life going on, Ryan is still working full time and I am now back into thinking about school mode. I have been able to get my classroom set up for the coming school year. I have a few things that need to get done in the coming weeks before school starts but I feel good about a new year starting.

Summer Vacation Begins

SCHOOL IS OUT FOR THE SUMMER! I am done. It is a nice feeling to have made it through another year of teaching. I told the kids today that if they do not remember anything that I taught them about math or reading, to remember that I thought that they were all very special kids and to never forget it. I feel that this is the most important thing for kids to learn that someone loves them and cares what happens to them.

It was nice to be with family and also the talks given at church were great. They were about family and not breaking the links in your eternal family. I am just grateful to be apart of a wonderful family.

Rainy Day

Yea, it is rain and not snow. I am happy that it is finally spring weather. Ryan finished his finals on Wednesday. So now he is done with school until August 30th. I have 24 days left until the end of school. These next couple of weeks will be full of testing for my students. I hate the core tests but they must be done. Lance is spending the next couple of days with us until he finishes his finals on Wednesday. I am looking to the warmer weather and the chance to start taking walks everyday. I need to exercise more so I am starting small by just walking each day.

Spring Break

I am enjoying my time off work this week. Monday, I went to the dentist and the foot doctor. I am happy to report that I will not need foot surgery in the summer. I do however need special insoles in my shoes. I will someday need foot surgery but not for a while. Anyway, I took care of Trevor with the help of Ryan for the last three days. Now, I am just taking it easy. Ryan starts finals tomorrow and he will be done next Wednesday.
Last weekend, we went to my parents house and we are a great time with my family for Easter. We also went and saw The Phantom. It was very well done and we enjoyed it. I am looking to it someday being really spring without the snow.

I figured that we annouced the arrival of our new nephew but have not posted a picture. So here he is with his parents on his blessing day.

Scrapbooking

I love to scrapbook but it something that I have not been able to get around to doing for a while and I am very far behind. So I was trying to decided what to do with my bridals and wedding pictures. I knew that I wanted something to do with them, so thanks to Rachel, I found shutterfly.com which is a digital scrapbooking website. I was able to put my bridals and wedding pictures into two abulms and they look great. Now, I want to still scrapbooking by hand but it is nice to have two big parts done and now I can get caught-up with the rest. Here are the covers of my new creations.

Strep Throat

So, I have strep throat for the first time. I am feeling much better today then I did yesterday. It is probably because I was finally able to sleep last night. I was in so much pain Sunday night that I woke up at 2:30am and could not get back to sleep. I went to work yesterday and called a sub and made sub plans and came back home. It has been nice to rest but I think that I am ready to get back to the day to day.

Crazy Cougar Fan

We went the BYU basketball game today. I had been feeling a little sick and then it hit me hard at the game. I had the flu. But for my team, I stay until the end. I am a crazy fan but it was worth it.

We made it to 8 months today. It was been a great 8 months of marriage. I am taking the day off today to try to get some energy back. Ryan's dad and brother are getting into town tonight to join Ryan's mom. Ryan and Rachel are blessing their baby on Sunday. It will nice to spend time with family this weekend. We have a good week. Ryan made it through all of his mid-terms. It is nice to make it to the half way point of the semester. Ryan is looking forward to his summer break as am I.

Valentine's Day

When you are teaching children especially around a holiday sometimes they are not willing to do their work because they are to excited. So this year, I let them have some fun. I had them make hearts to give Ryan a "heart attack". I put them on our front door and when he got home that night he felt the love. They kids really liked doing it so it was fun to watch them and it was nice not to have to force them to work.

February

Where did January go? I cannot believe how fast the year is going already. I had parent/teacher conferences this week. They went much better then last time. I finally got some help for one of my students who really needs it. It should make my days easier at school. Ryan is enjoying most of his classes. He is not as busy this semester as last. He has a long break between classes which has given him time to study at school.
Last Saturday, we were able to have all the family in Provo come over to celebrate Ryan, Rachel, and Lance's birthday. We ate pizza and played a game. My favorite part was holding my niece. She is so cute. We are also waiting for the arrival sometime in the coming week for Rachel's baby boy to get here. We are also going to my parent house next weekend to visit the family. We love to spend time with any family.

Happy Birthday, Ryan

Ryan had a good birthday. He got things for the car, clothes, and a new soccer ball. He is also going to get a new sleeping bag when we have time to find one.

Graceful

So, I always thought it was funny to see people slip on ice and sometimes regain their balance or totally lose all self confidence. Today I retain the confidence that I have held for years, but find myself among so many other nerds who lost their balance walking home from school, first falling into the bus stop partition wall and then hitting the pavement receiving a nice little gash in my shin. I guess because of the speed I recovered and that I still made the "walk" signal to cross the street, it makes me tougher somehow. So although me and this guy

both looked like crazies, I know that I am still cool (and self confidence really comes from within).

My niece was born on December 23rd and we had her baby blessing on January 4th. Here is the family picture that we took on that day.

January

We have been able to get back into the swing of things after the Christmas break. Ryan has finally decided what he is going to do with the rest of his life. He has started his new major this semester, Urban Planning with a business minor. He will be done with school in April of 2011.
I have been moving along with the school year. We have are over the hump, we are more then half way done with the school year. My students this year have been a challenge but I have learned so much from them. Some of them have really hard home lives and I am glad that I can be the one stable thing in their lives.
For my birthday, Ryan and I went to see the movie Bedtime Stories. We really liked the movie so if you are looking for one to see, it is a good one.

Happy Birthday, Natalie

Natalie had a great 26th birthday. She got a movie, a water bottle, a pitcher, and some money.
