Road Trip 2024: Last Stop

Our last stop of the trip was Carthage Jail. It was great to see a lot of church history sites since we are preparing to study the Doctrine and Covenants next year in Come Follow Me. We travel about 5000 miles during the summer. My oldest 4 have now been to 23 states and my youngest two have been to 22 states.

 

Road Trip 2024: Casey, IL

On our drive back home, we made a stop in Casey, IL. This is a small town off I-70 that is known for being the Big, small town. It has all sorts of giant size items. It was fun to explore and I think everyone liked the mailbox the best. 

 

Road Trip 2024: North Carolina

We spent a long weekend with the Bishop family. The kids had fun hanging out with cousins and it was nice to visit with Mike and Vanessa. I did not take many picture because we were having to much fun. 

 

Road Trip 2024: Maymont

On our drive to NC, we stop at Maymont Estates in Richmond, VA. Carter, Lily, Landon and I had visited before and it was sad to see that the grounds were as care for as when we visited about 8 years earlier. Still it was a nice break to get out of the car for a little and the kids were able to run around. 
 

Road Trip 2024: Washington DC Days Three and Four

On Tuesday, we went to the Capital for a tour, then we went to the Botanical Gardens, then the Archives and last we went back to the Natural History museum when we could not get to the Old Clock Tower due to the NATO Summit. 

 

On Wednesday, we went to the Zoo in the morning, then headed to Ford's Theater in the afternoon and made a pit stop at the American History museum to try to go to the spark lab but a closed a few minutes before we got there.
