Day Two: Drive to Portland/ Carter Swimming 5-12

On Thursday, we made the 3 1/2 hour drive from Washington to Portland, Oregon. On the way, we stopped at Multnomah Falls and while there we saw a train pass by.

When we got to the hotel, we decided to take Carter swimming for the first time. He did not like to be in the water but we liked sitting on the side and splashing in the water.

He was one of five people that received an offer out of 25 that applied for the program. It is a four year program and moves him around the base each year so that he can get experience in a lot of different kinds of work. We are very proud of him. He is be starting his new job on July 19th.

Yesterday, we enjoy food, family, and fun as we spent the day in Idaho to celebrate my grandma's 80th birthday and Carter's first birthday.

My Aunt Debbie made these cupcakes for Carter.

Carter enjoyed the frosting a lot!
